Free Trial

Every new organization starts with a 14-day free trial of the Starter plan. During the trial:

• All Pro features are available
• No credit card required
• A banner shows the remaining trial days

If you don't add a payment method before the trial ends, your organization reverts to the Free plan.

How Billing Works

Pro plans are billed per license per month. Each plan has a minimum number of licenses (see the table above). If your team uses fewer licenses than the minimum, you're billed for the minimum instead.

Example: On the Teams plan with 4 licenses used, you'd be billed for 6 licenses (the plan minimum), so $8.99 x 6 = $53.94/month. If you use 8 licenses, you'd be billed for 8.

A license is used by every team member with an active membership, plus every pre-authorized user — employees or vendors you've given user access to who haven't signed in yet. Deactivated users don't use a license.

Pre-authorized users use a license from the moment you give them access, not from their first sign-in. Removing a pre-authorization (Manage → Users → Pending Users) frees the license. Email invitations that haven't been accepted don't use a license.

License sync is automatic. When users join, leave, get deactivated, or are pre-authorized, the subscription quantity updates immediately.

Adding a license is charged from the moment you add it — a prorated charge for the remainder of the billing period is recorded immediately and collected on your next invoice. Removing a license doesn't issue a refund or credit — the license stays paid through the current period, and your next invoice reflects the lower count. You're never charged twice for the same license: if you remove someone and add someone else (or the same person) back within the same billing period, licenses you've already paid for that period are reused for free. The Billing page shows both numbers — licenses in use and licenses paid this period — whenever they differ, along with how many you can reassign at no charge.

Choosing a Plan

• Free: Perfect for solo users or trying out the platform
• Starter: Small teams (1-5 users) that need unlimited entries and AI
• Teams: Mid-size teams (6-10 users) that want volume pricing and unlimited AI
• Business: Larger teams (11+ users) with the best per-user rate and dedicated support

Payment

Hourli.ai uses Stripe for secure payment processing. We accept all major credit and debit cards. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card numbers.

To add a payment method:

1. Go to Manage → Billing
2. Click Add Payment Method
3. Complete the Stripe checkout form
4. Your card is saved for future billing

Changing Plans

1. Go to Manage → Billing
2. Select a different plan
3. The change takes effect immediately

When upgrading, you're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period. When downgrading to Free, your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
